Play Group

Most Thursdays we meet our friends at the park. This was our last play date before leaving for California and the last time we will see Bryn and Jill until January. We will miss them greatly!

Totally Worn out!
Bryn came home with us and was sitting in the front of the stroller, wide awake.
Andy some how managed to sleep in the back.
They always have so much fun together!

Bronx Zoo with the Smiths

Okay if you haven't noticed Andy and I go to the zoo a lot, but it is so fun and I love how familiar he is getting with it. This time we met our friends Austyn and Brody. Brody and Andy are just a few months apart.
I am starting to think that Andy prefers fish over butterflies.
Hello Friend!

A Baby Prairie Dog!
Andy has just about learned what these big pictures of bugs with holes are for.
(I can't seem to get this picture to cooperate, it is suppose to be up with the Butterfly garden, oh well)

Camping With the Scouts

On June 18th Patrick had a scouting trip planned. Since he had been working so much I was not thrilled about him being gone on the first weekend he had off in three weeks. So I let him know that Andy and I were going to be scouts for the weekend and join the campout. Since we were going Chet's wife Megan went too. All in all there were five adults, two scouts,a four year old and a toddler. We had a great time. Andy loved every minute playing with rocks and sticks, leaves and whatever else he could get his hands on. The next morning we went on a short hike and tried to identify animals and insects. Then we played on the beach of a near by lake. I am always impressed on how good the scouts are to Andy.

Our little turtle!

By the time we got home Andy was exhausted and would not wake up.

Bronx Zoo with the Badgers

On June 18th Jana, Breyton and Evie Badger walked to the Zoo with Andy and I. We got to see the two week old baby seal, the Butterfly Gardens, ride the bug carousel and the new lion cubs.  Andy fell asleep on the way to see the cubs. We love hanging with the Badgers.
This is Andy's favorite spot to sit in the Butterfly Garden.
Evie checking things out. Isn't she cute!
He is starting to understand what to do at these picture spots.
He loved the Bug Carousel but was super sleepy.
Breyton enjoying on the praying mantis.

Playing with Play Doe Instead of Eating it

Sometimes I forget how big Andy is getting. I was surprised when he was actually playing with the play doe instead of just trying to eat it. So I took a few pictures. (6/14/2010)

Memorial Day

Some how I convinced Patrick to walk the 3.5 miles to Orchard Beach on Memorial Day. My jogging stroller was in need of some repairs so we used our sit and stand stroller, which is a great stroller, but Andy will easily fall asleep in the jogging stroller, and no so much in the sit and stand. Needless to say that although he was tired and his head was bobbing he managed to stay a wake the whole walk there.

Look closely and you will see the drool from a moment of almost sleeping on his tray.
We had a quick picnic lunch and Andy was off and ready to play. We let him play in the grass for a little bit and then went to the playground. We did not actually go to the beach because it was packed with people so was the playground but it was more tolerable.

Stick hunting was successful.

And so was swinging.

But the big hit of the day was the fountain was on.

The water was cold but luckily it was a hot day.

He held on to our squirt gun most of the time.

Chilling out with Dad hoping to have a sip of his Coke-a-cola. Sorry buddy!
We then walked the 3.5 miles home. Andy slept the whole way home and woke up as we got to the apartments and the spot to meet the Badgers, Hansens, and Grace Poulsen (her husband Dave was still studying for Step One of the Boards) to play a little Botchy Ball. Both Andy and Breyton tried to play with us at first but decided sticks were more fun.

What a perfect rock to beat with a stick.
The net was fun to beat too. These two are all boy!!!
The Hansen's won the Botchy Ball game. Oh well guess Patrick and I need to practice before the next game.
