Lizzie turned 2 on May 29. It's hard to imagine that she is already so big and growing faster with each passing day. It's also hard to imagine that it's only been 2 years since she joined us...I honestly have a hard time remembering life without her. She is so sweet and so independent, and we love her to distraction. Here are some pics from the celebration.
Lizzie was very happy to get a Minnie Mouse shopping cart. Andy picked the gift out himself. Although you can't see his face in the picture, rest assured that he is as excited as Lizzy.
The best part of a toddler birthday is the sheer excitement on their faces when they see all the presents!
Especially when the present is a doll house! We decided that it was time to get Lizzie her own doll house after watching her play with friend's and cousin's doll houses and promptly convert Andy's Batcave into her doll's family home (baby slept in the Joker's cell). Needless to say, Andy was not pleased with the use of the Batcave for domestic bliss.
Lizzie wanted to play with the dollhouse right away. Andy was also pretty intrigued!
A requirement in the Scarborough household is that you possess your very own lightsaber. Lizzie finally got hers! Next up is Julie.
Lizzie learns that fire is hot. Who said birthdays can't be educational?
Minnie Mouse cupcakes. Lizzie is passionate about Minnie Mouse.
A shoutout to Julie and her mom, Debbie, for the Minnie Mouse Dum-Dum creation. Well played!
Our friend Belle, wearing her Mouse ears. These were another creation by Julie. Her talent never ceases to amaze me!
Andy was not to be left out of the Mouse ear celebrations!
Even Kali got in on the fun!
Lizzie was very excited the entire time. However, making her own cookies was especially awesome!
A shoutout to Leta for the bubble machine. Even Navy physicians can't resist bubbles!
Lizzie's cake. All I have to say is that Julie sure does love her kids!
A Minnie Mouse backpack for the future student.
