There were other kites soaring above the beach.
Using his soccer ball as his excuse, Andy slowly made his way over to the water. Once we got there he did not hesitate like I hoped he would, I barely snatched him up in time to get his shoes and socks off. Then he ran right into the water. I took a couple pictures before I realized that he wasn't going to stop. I rapidly removed my shoes and socks off and rolled up my pants and joined him in the water. He waded in the water, picked up seashells, rocks, sticks, and dug in the sand with his hands and anything else he could find. It was obvious that he was enjoying every moment.
After a few falls in the water we headed back to see what Dad was doing. We watched Patrick fly the kite. Then I flew the kite, okay I tried to fly the kite. It is not as easy as it looks. Patrick got a good work out running to the kite after each time I crashed it. Then Patrick took another turn, to show me how it is done. Andy dug in the sand with Pat's blue plastic kite string holder. While Patrick flew the kite for a little longer Andy headed back down to the water which felt a lot colder the second time in.
I now love radiology! To bad it ends Friday, I think I could really get used to having Patrick home by 1:30pm every Friday. (I know that is not even reality for most radiologist, but it sure would be nice.)

What a great day at the beach. I am envious, because the beach is one of my favorite places to go.
Thank you for the pictures of Andy running in the water. I had the whole scene pictured different in my mind and was feeling a little concerned. All the pictures and comentary were delightful.
He's so stinking adorable - I'm talking about Andy, not my third big brother. :D Although, Pat does look like he's having a blast.
Love ya all,
Cassie
Julie, we were at Orchard Beach Friday afternoon, too! I have pictures of those same kites. I wish we would have seen you!
Looks like so much fun for Andy to play in the sand and water! We are loving the radiology rotation too!
