Living Waters

Our stake Relief Society is having a stake enrichment activity in March. The theme is "Living Waters" from the story of Christ and the Woman at the Well. They asked us to create something sharing what "living waters" means to us. As I read over the scripture I realized that the woman left her Water pot to share with others her new found knowledge of Christ. In a way you can say that once she was filled with the "living water" Christ had to offer her she left behind her worldly cares to share that water with others. So what is the "living waters" that Christ has to offer us? He promised that if we drank from the "living waters" we would thirst no more. The first thing that comes to mind is the gospel and the opportunity to have eternal life and live with our Father in Heaven. I also thought about the love and the peace that we can feel when we humble ourselves enough to turn our troubles to the Lord. I think that once we find this peace and love we then have a desire to share it and help others find peace and love in their own lives.

I was really grateful for the challenge to find out what this scripture meant to me and to create something. I have been wanting to become more artistic, I even asked my mother for art supplies a couple of Christmas' ago. This gave me the excuse to get these supplies out and explore with them. The picture above was my final project; I feel quite proud of it. I enjoyed it so much I now want to find a class on pastels so that I can really learn how to use them. Maybe the true "living waters" gives us the desire to constantly improve ourselves not just spiritually and physically, but also creatively.

Happy Valentines Day Mommy

When you are 10 weeks old it is hard to show someone that you love them. There is always smiling, and cooing but sometimes you need more. Today Andrew showed me his love as I was getting him out of the bath. I was draping his towel around me so that it would be easier to pick him up and wrap him quickly. All of the sudden my leg felt wet. I looked down and Andrew was peeing, and doing a good job of aiming it out of the bath tub and on to my leg. As I stopped this from happening he smiled let out some gas. He followed this up by pooing in the tub. I pulled him out and rinsed him off. Later he spit up all over me. I must really be loved!

10. His eyes light up when he talks about shiny medals and uniforms.

8. He hates doing dishes, but does them anyway.

These are just a few on my list of things I love about Patrick. He is a wonderful husband and father. I am truly blessed to have him in my life. I Love You Patrick!

Cute Pics and Pouty Lips

I thought that I would go ahead and write a post since the last five have been from Julie. It's a bit of a reversal from the usual state of affairs. I place all the blame on my study schedule. Unfortunately, it isn't going to get any better for quite awhile. Anyway, I digress. This blog is about Andy (because, honestly, who really wants to read a blog about an older than average medical student when you can look at pictures of his adorable son)!

The other day, Julie and I were at Target, meandering around, looking at things we could buy for Andy and contemplating how to spend my birthday money (thanks Mom and Dad and Ma and Pa-in-law) when we came across a onsie that we just had to buy.

I also had the opportunity to watch Andy on Saturday while Julie attended a Relief Society activity. During that time I dressed him in his blessing outfit to get a few more pictures before he's too big to wear it. I also tried to set everything up so that we could compare how similar he and I look as babies. I think my argument that he looks more like Julie is beginning to gain some ground!

I personally am quite thankful that he looks more like Julie. I was such an awkward 13 - 32 year old!

I was also able to catch Andy's completely adorable, melt-your-heart-in-less-than-a-second pout on film for the first time. He doesn't cry when he's producing this pout. As a matter of fact, he often gives me a huge smile when I go to pick him up because he just looks so sad. It's pure manipulation and it works like a charm every time. The little guy knows it, too.

New Batteries!

The pictures I posted yesterday were old, so last night I took some pictures of Andy in his bouncer. Patrick even bought new batteries after reading the blog and now the music sounds much better!

Just a Little Creepy

I am wasting time reading blogs and planning a blog all about how Andrew has started to sleep about 8 hours at night, not every night but still very exciting. Yeah!!

When all of the sudden the music on Andrew's bouncer starts playing. Andrew and I both love his bouncer as you can see from the pictures below. It has magical powers to entertain him for a good amount of time and often put him to sleep. Unfortunately right now it is in need of D batteries, which I keep forgetting to buy, so right now the music sounds like it belongs in a horror film. The fact that it randomly turns on all by itself just adds to the creepiness.
