Andyventures in Idaho

So I am a little behind on posting. On June 1st, Andy and I left California for Idaho Falls. We landed in Salt Lake City and spent the night with my grandparents in Springville. On June second Grandpa and Grammie Scarborough picked us up. Andy spent some time with Grammie flirting with the workers at the Family History Center, while Grandpa Scarborough and I spent a couple of hours working on family history. Then we drove to Idaho Falls. We spent the next few days with Andy's aunts, uncles, and cousins. Andy was the center of every one's attention and he loved every minute of it.

On our way to Grammie and Grandpa's we stopped by to visit with Aunt Crystal. Andy and Joey hit it off. The next night we had a slumber party with Joey on Grammie and Grandpa's Living room floor. (I think I am almost too old to sleep on the floor, but it was fun.)

Andy loved playing with all of his cousins...

and of course Aunt Cassie.

Aunt Crystal let him wear her Marine hat to beat up the Army Airborne Bear...

After several hits it looked like Andy would win...

But the bear got the best of him.

Everyone was willing to share their toys!

The Cousins!

Andy really wanted...

to eat Crystal's hat!

Uncle Dan helped Andy see the world at a whole new level.

Andy got to meet my friend Kim on Thursday and then he got to play with his cousins outside. He can't wait to play football with Cody, Wyatt, and Billy, but for now a walk around the track was fun.

On Saturday Crystal watched Andy while I was able to go to the temple for the first time since Andy was born. It was really nice. Thanks Crystal!

Grandpa made us some yummy lobster our last night in Idaho. Unfortunately he didn't get to eat much before he started to feel unwell. We were all scared that he had a heart attack so the ambulance came to pick him up and take him to the hospital. We went to visit him on Sunday before Uncle David took us to the airport. Grandpa was doing much better. We are glad that he was okay. Andy really loves his Grandpa.

When we arrived at the hospital Andy had just fallen asleep; he was so tired he stayed asleep while I pulled him out of the car, walked to Grandpa's room, and he was even passed around to several people before he woke up.

We really enjoyed our time in Idaho and can't wait to visit again!

Andyventures From California

Here are a few more pictures from California. Andrew and I were sick with strep throat all of last week, so we didn't do much but rest and stay inside. I started to feel better on Monday. So then we started to play again. This first picture is gross, but it amazes me the things our bodies do to fight off invaders.

Andy is getting better at sitting.
The pillow doesn't support him it just gives his head something soft to land on we he falls.
After being cooped up for a week. Andy and I went to stay with Grandma and Granddad at their cabin for the weekend. It was relaxing for us, but Grandma and Granddad worked hard.

I was really feeling better this past Tuesday, but we really didn't do anything until Thursday. We went to the Jelly Belly Belly Bean Factory in Fairfield with my friend Marcella and her daughters Courtney and Megan, Malissa and the kids were suppose to come too but Malissa was not feeling well.

So cool, in Mattox's sunglasses!

Saturday we went to the San Fransisco Zoo. Here is us at the Children's petting zoo.

Like Patrick, Andrew wants to be a cowboy.

Unfortunately, for the both of them we are city folk.

Andrew, enjoying another saddle.

Andrew, took two naps while we were at the zoo.

Andrew's first ride on a mary-go-round.

Granddad's Little Buddy.
This is the closest he will ever get to petting a lion.

Aunty Leta is so Fun!

Sitting with Grandma!

Us girls squeezing on to the lion's back. (It was a tight fit)

My Husband Said I Better Post or Else...

Patrick is now studying for the Step 1 of the Medical Boards. He decided it would be best if I and Andy weren't around. Last night he told me that I better post pictures of Andrew before he posts on how I am preventing him from being a good father because I am not keeping him up to date on what Andy is doing. So needless to say I am posting today...just for Patrick. If I can figure out how to get the videos to save right to my parents computer I will post those soon.

Andrew, can now sit by himself for a short time when put in the position. He can reach down and grab a toy and sit back up sometimes, but if I am not careful he ends up going down face first.
I am sure he will have this skill down soon.

Andrew had his first experience in the swimming pool yesterday. I thought he would cry, but he loved it. I guess we will be spending more time in the pool.

Andrew is now mobile...when he is in his walker. He can back up, go forward, turn and chase after toys. It is really fun watching him focus on something and go after it. He was chasing a ball this morning and when he got the ball to the side of him he would reach for it.

HE IS SO AMAZING. ;)~

Patrick, I will try and figure out how to get the videos to my Parents computer. I hope this is good enough for now. Love you and Miss You!!

Ahh...nap time!

Pat has finally finished his second year exams. He took his final test today, we ate pizza and ice cream with some of the other second year students (Spencer, David and Jana) and now Pat is resting and Andy is taking a long nap, so I decided to post some pictures. Andrew has been doing many firsts lately, so I thought I would share.

I hardly ever feed Andrew with a bottle, so when I had a little milk left from his cereal that need to be used and gave it to him in a bottle, I was surprised to see that he could feed him self without any help. (4/26/09)

On April 27th, 2009 he finally rolled from his back to his front with out a problem. He rolled several times that day, but I still failed to get a good picture.

This picture was just too cute to not post. We were recently given a highchair, Andy looks small in it, but he enjoys sitting with us at the table.

Now for Andy's latest trick. Why buy expensive toys when your son comes with toes. He love to eat those toes. (5/3/09)

Pat starts studying for the Boards tomorrow so I better go and enjoy him being home while I can..he and Andy just woke up.

Study, Study, Study

Patrick is about 7 weeks from taking Step one of the Boards, but first he has four tests coming up in the next week or so. Needless to say he has been studying like mad. Last week was his Spring break and like most of his classmates he studied for most of it. I did get him to go to Ikea one day with me. It was a nice break.

I miss spending time with him. Most nights he is at the college studying until about midnight. Tonight I was lucky. He decided to study at home. At least I can look at him. And just in case I forget and start to talk to him he has his trusty earplugs in to block me out and any noise I or Andy may make. I love him and his dedication to doing well in Med school. But I wonder if I will ever get my husband back!

Oh and for your Andy update...his new favorite toy is an...

...empty cup!
He can bring it to his mouth and chew on the sippy part. Just wait until there is actually something in the cup. (I need to give the cup back to Arianne, but Andy is enjoying it for now. I think I will need to go buy one for him.)

Rice Cereal is Yummy!

Andy has been showing a lot of interest in food for the past month. When he is on my lap I have to keep just the right distance away or his hand will be in my food. When I drink from cups or water/juice bottles his eyes watch every sip and he tries to grab it. Sometime I will put the cap on and let him play with the bottle. He will put it to his mouth just like I did and then get mad when nothing comes out. He is really fun to watch.

Well, because of his interest on April 16th Pat and I decided to try to give him rice cereal. It turned out well as you can see from the pictures below. I guess he was ready. He loves to eat!

His not so sure face for the first bite.

The grin shows that.."Andy, likes it!"

Watching the bite go in.

The satisfied smirk.

Already, he wants to feed him self.

Here is a video. Enjoy!

Happy Easter / Passover!

We just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter / Passover! We hope everyone had a good one.

Andrew was very excited to have an entire Easter basket to himself (his is on the left), even though he won't be able to eat candy for another year!

We got together with our med school friends on Friday night and dyed Easter eggs after our Institute class. Here are our contributions. I personally really like the two tie-dyed eggs!

Julie decided to hide the eggs while Andy was sleeping. We decided to make it easy on him, since it's his first Easter.

Andy woke up and found his first Easter egg. My son is a genius!

Andy and Daddy. The matching blue shirts are a nice touch!

Andy and Mommy. They're both so darn good looking!

The family. Andy was pretty much done with pictures by this point; this was the best we could get!
